a few random comments

something i've noticed about my roommates is that none of them answer the door. last night i was sitting in my room in the basement and the doorbell rang. i waited for a second to see if anyone answered it. no one did, so i went to get it. one the way up, i noticed that one of my roommates was sitting in the living room just a few feet from the door and didn't get up to answer it. retarded, i know.

my one class for tomorrow has been cancelled, which means i can put off reading that one article for another week :) it also means that i can go to sarah's house 2 hours earlier. i'm making thank you cards for all of my friends that brought me cute little presents for my birthday party.

speaking of presents, adam and his wife caroline gave me 4 boxes of herbal tea. they were very thoughtful and made sure it was herbal. unfortunately, i don't really like herbal tea at all. i should say didn't because i decided to give it another chance. now i drink at least one cup of herbal tea every night (last night it was 2) i just figured out how i like to drink it (teaspoon of sugar, little bit of 2%) and it's great. my two favorites are tazo calm (chamomile and mint) and peach passion (peach and passion fruit). de-lish!

campus observations

1. today i saw a guy riding to class on a unicycle. that's not something you see everyday.
2. last week there were girls passing out fliers for the vagina monologues. my friend lauren (a guy) took the flier and said to them "thanks, i like vaginas." needless to say, they were speechless. if it were me, i would have taken the flier back.
3. while looking at an announcements board today, i saw a homemade ad looking for people to practice speaking french with. it was a french student looking for people who need some experience speaking with a native. at the very bottom in parentheses it said (reasonable rates). what the. . . ?!? who charges people to just practice their french? only the french. . .

why tuesdays are better than mondays

1. i only have to work for 2 hours on tuesday
2. office hours!!
3. people who actually come to my office hours. (thank you doug ferrara for breaking my 5 month long visitless streak)
4. not so many phone calls at work (and not just because i leave practically as soon as i get there.)
5. new office chair at work.
6. no lecture that i really have to pay attention to
7. done at school by 2:30

yeah, that's pretty much it. it turns out that i really only go to school and work. that's pretty much it. this list was way better in my head. sorry to disappoint. i'm going to play some computer games, um, i mean make good use of my office hours. hehe.

mission story # 3872

one day when i was in the peninsula (my last area) me and louise (hna moss) were doing some pday shopping. we were in the grocery store and some guy from guayaquil stopped to talk to us and practice his english (which wasn't half bad). the longer we talked the more he started flirting with us. and then he looked right at me and said "you are really beautiful" or something to that effect. and much to my dismay, louise looked at me, nodded in agreement and said, "isn't she though?" i wanted to die. well, strangle louise first, then die. but i didn't and now we just laugh to ourselves and wish that someone would have the guts to say that now. . .

i have no idea what i'm doing

maybe it's the sunday evening boredom setting in, but i'm starting a blog. i don't know what's happening to me. first i start throwing parties, next i start wearing dressy clothes every day, now i'm blogging. something's not right here. just the same, i figure this is the best way to keep everyone up on me since i can't seem to do it any other way. so in case you care, here's a glimpse into my life. have fun with that one.
